Here's a fishing sequence with the D500 and Sigma 150-600 S. The camera,lens, and bird did everything they were supposed to do, and pretty well too. The weak link in this sequence was the photographer as I somehow couldn't keep up with the action. Proof that this camera body is way better than I am

I have used my DSLR's for many years on numerous assignments and can't really go back and say "If I only had a better camera, I could have captured that image."
Yes, the new mirrorless cameras I have shot with offer better eye focus and more frames per second but I did okay with the gear I had at the time and made a ton of money.

Technological advances are what everybody's talking about these days but we're forgetting the individual looking through the viewfinder who presses the shutter button.
I am convinced the Z9 will be a killer for sports and action photographers but don't know how many will give up on their tried and true DSLR's and lenses and switch to mirror-less?
I have Nikon and Canon DSLR's and may add mirrorless or switch over completely but I still need to make a living in the meantime and who knows when the Z9 or R3 will be released?
