Thanks! There were a few minutes when the sun aligned perfectly with all the icicles and instead of going shallow it worked out.

A few test images taken today in store with the display copy.
Images taken successively closer to see the close-in sharpness wide open - it's spectacular as one would expect.

This lens is in my future.

That's the issue with 50GM imho: once you try it, you will not be satisfied with any other fast 50...
