Agree, is there even a profile available already in 3rd party RAW converters? Turning on in camera correction only affects the JPEG.

The lens correction is enabled in camera.
The next picture you can even see the mustache distortion.
Indeed, in-camera correction will work for jpegs. For RAWs, it depends on the program you use - CaptureOne uses the distortion correction data embedded in EXIF ("Manufacturer profile" and slider to 100).

Okay, I wasn't aware you were posting out of camera JPEGs. I had assumed (erroneously) that you had processed the RAW file (not knowing what converter) and this wasn't one produced by the camera.

Mild is a better term for sure. I don't know how this should be called excessive. It's unfortunate nonetheless, though keep in mind that bigger 50 lenses like the Leica SL Lux and Pana have even more distortion

RAW image. Only one setting, use a “Camera Matching - Standard ” color profile in Lightroom.

Funny that, this is the only lens I ever used to exhibit such degree of distortion. Even with ultra wide lenses I don't remember to ever pictured a curve wall before.

No, those pictures were converted from RAW using Lightroom with lens correction section showing "Build-in" . Jpg, however, does show a lesser degree of distortion. Hopefully next Lightroom update we will have a lens profile for the 50GM.
It's a fun lens to use nonetheless, but for the time being shoot jpg only or steer clear of vertical lines.
Phew, that's good news, as without specific lens profile LR does not correct distortion AFAIK.
I think uncorrected this does not look too bad, check Sigma 85 DN to see how bad it can actually get .
I thought the built-in profile in LR only did CA correction. You see a difference in LR vs the SooC JPEG in terms of distortion?

I'm not sure if it varies, but any lens I check on Lightroom just says built-in profile corrects for CA, so I think you're right on that. Needs to be manually done, or have the profile added into Lightroom to have Distortion correction.
Looks like a wonderful lens! I sold my Canon 50 1.2 last year and would love to have this to replace it. I thought I could live without it but after seeing these samples, it's hard to resist. Nice work everyone!
