I have only had this lens for a month and already lost its hood any idea where to get a replacement?
I hear there is a company that makes hoods, caps, and such that perfectly fit this lens. It’s called Pony...no that’s not it. Ummm...Sonnet....no...ummm oh yeah, S-O-N-Y.
I am not a people shooter but was drafted by friends to take some group shots, now that covid is fading, of their graduating seniors. I used the 135/1.8 and 50/1.2 on different bodies but unless I thought about a particular shot, found the results indistinguishable between the two lenses, which is very high praise for the 50/1.2. Here are two shots from the outing. The sky was rather blank and lifeless and the scene extremely high contrast, with the angle of the sun onto the hillside, but the lens performed like a champ.
In a different sequence, I shot them walking towards me at a reasonable pace, and in 50+ images, every single frame was perfectly focused on the eyes. Great job for Sony's Eye-AF and the fancy motors in the 50GM.
