I got confirmation of March 4th from Canada dealer. B&H is rarely wrong once they have a specific date. Unless Sony comes out with a delay notice in the next 4 weeks.

March 5 in Canada according to Sony - SPS members get priority.

I'm on SPS's list but they are saying it isn't all that organized in Canada like the US so it may or may not make a difference. I'm #1 on the list at my retailer.
I guess ON gets these cameras a day before AB. Or Sony has changed the date from a couple days ago.
I think my retailer has a little more pull with Sony Canada vs TCS. When I wanted a 600GM TCS said Sony told them 2-4 weeks, my dealer had one in 5 days from Sony.

I just got the email from SPS a few minutes ago, so I'm guessing its up-to-date info.

The priority queue will allow those who have pre-ordered the camera to request one of the first units to arrive in Canada - essentially a place in line prior to regular stock being released to retail.
You may only request up to one unit of the ILCE1/B, even if you have more than one unit on order.
Please note that there is no member discount for this item, the priority queue only confirms you are interested, have made purchase arrangements, and puts you in line - due to the incredible demand for the new camera we want to make sure that our working professional members have access to this groundbreaking model as soon as possible.

I was wondering A7R4 L-Brackets and vertical battery grip will on A1, or is it going to be different designs for A1

Based on Sony website specs, A1 is slightly bigger than A7R4,
DIMENSIONS (W X H X D)
A7R4: Approx. 128.9 mm x 96.4 mm x 77.5 mm, A1: Approx. 128.9 mm x 96.9 mm x 80.8 mm

FROM GRIP TO MONITOR, A7R4: Approx. 128.9 mm x 96.4 mm x 67.3 mm, A1 : Approx. 128.9 mm x 96.9 mm x 69.7 mm

Well I知 dipping my toe into Sony. I知 keeping my a1 preorder and ordered a lens, grip, card with reader and an extra battery. I just dropped $9,500 in Sony gear to give it a try. Either I知 going to be blown away or not. If not I値l return and keep my Nikon gear and use it until Nikon can blow me away with something new. My gut tells me Sony AF is going to impress me. 🤞

DPReview RAW files downloaded, opened in Sony Edit, exported as Tiff, Topaz DeNoise, into LR for a few tweaks and output to web as I usually do...

Lol, I did the same thing. There is something with the bird pics that is bothering me and I can't decide what. Obviously they were shot in crappy light, and the one sparrow was way to the edge of the frame. Am I just being picky of the 200-600 quality?

Up to ISO 800 things look really freaking good. Above 800 I don't feel I'm seeing anything ground breaking, but again, I feel like the best skill wasn't put into taking these photos. All of them seem off to me (be it focus point, dirty glasses on the one guy, bad framing on the birds (or maybe even shooting through a window??) .

I am impressed with the ISO 12800 junco shot where the subject filled the frame and was well exposed so good things can happen :-)

Some 100% crops after PP.

Not a sharp photo IMO

ISO 12800, not bad?

ISO 800, good focus, maybe the only good example of these 3

Yeah, these type of samples sort of suck...so hard to say what is what.

In the one German video with the European Robin on the thumbnail, I was liking the IQ when he was punching in to the ISO 2500, 4000 and 6400 shots. Of course those were all jpegs but details were there and noise was fine. Throw a RAW into Topaz DN and I think things will be totally fine considering a 50MP sensor.

I also saw one video showing pushing from ISO 100 up to 12800 or something and it was way more invariant than the A7RIV.
