Some damn fine shots right here. I can not imagine how hard it is to carry a 50 f/1.2 around on wedding or event shoot, but on vacation or just for fun shoot must be tough.
I really enjoyed working with 58 /1.4G, but the lack of sharpness at /1.4 was sometimes infuriating. it's time to try a new tool, and I can always buy a 58 back in better condition than my copy was, if I want.
It's actually nice to know I was not the only person annoyed with the lack of sharpness at 1.4. I want an element of consistency from a lens and not a "when the moons align with Jupiter during the flap of a hummingbirds wings in Florida at 3pm..." then you will have sharp images kind of nonsense that I was getting with that lens. I have had the 50 1.2 for years. I'm not getting rid of it unless Nikon does a MkII with legit improvements. Alexander Ross wrote:

I'll be honest you are the inspiration between some of my purchases for getting F Mount lenses including the 28 1.4E | 58 1.4G and 105 1.4E for my Z6II
I do enjoy using my 50 1.2 S | 85 1.2 S and 135 1.8 S Plena tho .... However the 85 1.2 S and 105 1.4E are my favorite two lenses
After all going through all of these pages, Youtube videos from various photo gurus and the rest, it appears to me that the 50 1.8s provides the ideal lens.
Top notch build quality.
Top notch image.
Much lighter and manageable for prolonged/daily carry.
significantly less expensive.
For a tripod mounted or indoor portrait session, maybe the 1.2s may be slightly superior but for every day use and still a 9.9/10 image quality, the 1.8s is my choice.
