That would be an insane achievement list. I suspect it will take several years to reach the end. But there are for sure some major winners in there.
At the same time, the premium on brand new lenses is absurd. For half those you could buy a small condo or a rancher in middle America.
I much prefer to be in a system that has some maturity. The Voigtlander E mount lenses are a dream to have and use. 200-600 is a special lens. 135 1.8 GM, 85 1.4 GM and 24 1.4 GMs the same.
Tilt shifting lenses are a major blind spot in the Sony ecosystem. Hopefully this rumor compels some work.

"These lenses are likely next in the pipeline:

-External zoom, extremely small size. I’m told it’s about the size of a coke can.
-Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM
This lens will be better optically and in build quality than the EF version."
These lenses are likely being announced in 2021:
The TS-R lenses are “groundbreaking” autofocus tilt-shift lenses for the RF mount.
-Canon TS-R 14mm f/4L
-Canon TS-R 24mm f/3.5L
-Canon RF 10-24mm f/4L USM
-Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM
-Canon RF 24mm f/1.8 IS STM Macro

So there you have it, I have been blown away by what was coming from Canon and this should do the same for you guys."

An expensive switch that may improve the experience of taking photos, but in the vast majority of instances isn’t going to improve your images. Improving your PP skills, taking a workshop are better investments for me. RoamingScott wrote:

We said this before and we will say it again, competition is great for us, camera endusers. Canon would have not come up with the R5 had not been for the Sony’s mirrorless camera system that started eating their lunch. And Sony will sit on their laurel had that not been for the R5. And I am convinced that Sony will introduce a camera or cameras that will improve the existing camera lineup and maybe even show improvement over the R5 before too long.
The back and forth switchers or dual system users are good for the economy and boy, our sputtering economy does need some boosts right now. Keep it up, spend, spend, spend, guys!

I'm going back and forth with my Sony (A9, A7R4) and Canon (R5) gear, enjoying both systems for now. My "perfect" camera would be a higher MP version of the A9 - basically Sony's answer to the R5. Ironically I've spent more time on my R5 doing landscape shots vs. wildlife. I need to lean more of the setup to take advantage of its tracking capabilities for BIF and faster moving wildlife. Yup, spend it when you can. We can't take it with us lol!

And I'd truly love to see photos taken with the new gear that could not be taken with their existing gear.

I’ve been a Sony shooter since A7 series began. I shot Canon before the A7 series, I moved because Sony sensor tech was better and I loved mirrorless over DSLRs. I’ve been very happy with Sony, but I’m always open to the idea of moving back if Canon blew Sony out of the park with something that was important to me.
I’ve been following Canon and I’m glad to see Canon turning the ship in the right direction. Their DR has massively improved and their mirrorless cameras have massively improved. New lens innovations are a good sign too.
Canon making new wide shift tilt lenses, a big range of zoom wides and a compact 70-200/4 are very appealing to me as a landscape photographer. As a landscape photographer no Sony lenses have really wowed me uniquely. The hardest part for me to leave Sony if I ever did would be the third party lens makers. That would be a tough pill to swallow loose VC, Zeiss and Sigma glass.

If I think at the new Nikon 19mm TS, which is 3500 Euros, here, crazy. I don't want to spend that money for specialised lenses I rarely have a use for.
I have the Canon TS 24 II, but will sell it. It is not competing well with 61MP and the borders are really bad when shifting.
I tested it against the Sony 20 (cropped) and the Sony is so much better. I now do all the shots at weddings from the venue using the 20mm cropped to 9x00 x 5000 pixels.

Give me a free 14mm Tilt shift or 1200/8 and I’ll show you! Haha!
Those two lenses are currently vapor ware as of right now. Let’s revisit this when they have become readily available. When that will be, if ever, will remain to be seen.

There is nothing wrong with being a dual system user and more power to you, Stuart! But it is ironic that you are using the R5 more for landscape where AF performance hardly is needed but the 45MP is definitely lower than the 61MP of the A7r IV. And we are not talking about the R5 having a built-in noise reduction in the RAW files in the lower ISO range. To what extent the later impacts real life files remains to be seen but the difference between 45MP and 61MP is definitely visible. Just a fruit for thought... Enjoy photography, Stuart!

I totally agree. The main reason the R5 seems to be getting the landscape work lately was on my recent trip taking my daughter back to Bellingham, the wildlife did not cooperate as much as I expected. My biggest gripes with the R5 are the AA filter and the baked in NR. I'm guessing they'll address that in a future high MP R1.
The A7R4 is definitely a beast for landscape and requires even more practice to get good, sharp files with those 61MP. I think in the coming months the R5 will switch over to 95% wildlife to accompany the A9 and the 200-600mm. I've gotten nice results with the A7R4 and the 200-600 and will continue with that combo as well (as shown here)... Bottom line is I need to practice my technique, get out more often for good photo opportunities, and enjoy it.

Sony makes some amazing high-resolution glass like the 135/1.8, 24/1.4, 20/1.8, 100-400 etc that work well for landscape. But like you I prefer third party for landscape work - the CV and Loxia MF lineups.

So you are now encouraging people to switch systems based on a wildly imaginative yet most likely fake rumor. You must be a very responsible adviser!

One of the key reasons I switched to mirrorless back when was the opportunity to lighten the load. 1-2 DSLRs and a couple of lenses was just too big and heavy to travel around with - the mirrorless platform presented an opportunity to cut down on weight and size. But in terms of Canon, it seems like they have completely missed out on that opportunity - apart from the RF 70-200/2.8 lens. The R5 body, the 50/1.2, the 85/1.2 - don't get me started on the 28-70/2.0 - are all bigger and heavier than their DSLR counterparts?!
I know there are limitations of physics when it comes to producing good glass, but it seems like Canon isn't even trying.

Thank you! Yes, that’s a sure thing. It is more the question of when and not if. I hope the announcement will come this year still. I am crossing my fingers .
Just makes one's day that much more exciting....never knowing when you're camera is going to crap out on you. And if you aren't bothered by the lockups then you can also look forward to the IBIS/IS jamming so hard that you will swear the IS is broken....and even if it isn't broken it probably will be after a year of that crap.
