Also, 13 stacked images on a macro/close-up subject is not enough. And the focus point should start on the outside of the nearer eye.
The 13 frames came from a 87 frame focus burst. I only used the ones where his legs and face were somewhat usable.
Several oof frames? Hell, at times the wind would move the flower he was on so much I had several frames that were completely empty with nothing but off backgrounds. I'd be getting ready to hit the shutter just as I had the nearest point sharp then all of a sudden my entire subject (mantis) wasn't even in the VF.
But I'm a hard headed dumbass and stuck to it in the late day sweltering heat in hopes to come away with something. It was just a half hearted attempt handheld as I was loosing light fast and didn't want to waste time grabbing my tripod and stabilizer gripper.
