Any of the latest EF glass works fantastic adapted to the R5 or R6. I haven't bothered purchasing any RF glass yet.
The animal eye AF system is mind blowing.
I snapped this shot about 2 weeks after the release last July while in Alaska. Barely had time to get familiar with the body but it brought home some of my best images I've ever taken.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I hate you so much. This image makes me so jealous.
Well, I guess this is one of those rare times where it's good to be hated.
I just wish I could afford to go back every year so you could hate me even more. Sadly that's not going to happen, but man.... the memories we captured on that trip will last us a lifetime.

Was that bear shot at Lake Clark or Brooks?
Lake Clark at SSCL. The place is amazing. Before we flew over there, my wife and I followed a grizzly up the Russian river for about 2 miles and I got some great shots of that bear as well. That encounter means a great deal to me as we found him on our own and did some serious hiking to stay with him. It got a little hairy/sketchy in a few areas with very fresh bear sign and half eaten salmon breakfast from another unseen bear.
I posted several shots on this thread back on page 41 post #19 if you'd like to see them.
Thanks. Of course I want to see them! We went to Brooks Falls in Sept 2018...incredible experience...these are the two best spots to see the big bears.

My R5 arrives tomorrow and I am curious if it will work well with a first generation EF 600/4 or 500/4 and my 1.4 VIII TC. I have the control ring EF-RF adapter. Sorry for the stupid question, but as a Nikon shooter, this is my first non-Nikon body.

I’ve used the V1 300mm and 400mm lenses with the 1.4iii on my R5. Only issue is that your mechanical shutter is about 7FPS and the viewfinder can be laggy. Other than that, works really well. Eshutter is great. Focus may be faster in non-tracking modes but I haven’t done enough testing to confirm this.

In the best mode, electronic shutter it will be perfect. 20fps and the sharpest shots ever with no shutter shock!
