Good video. For my R I cleaned up the EVF and Display options because there is too much junk in there. As for animal/human eye focus I'll probably use the C1-3 modes for that.
I was a little puzzled by his Case 1 and 2 comments. He likes Case 1 with TS set to -1. Case 2 is TS with the factory setting of -1. He could have used that and decreased the accel/decel. Oh well. I'll see for myself. I have used Case 4 for erratic subjects that also move to and away from me and I will test Auto out.
I wish he had talked about the new Switching Tracked Subjects. No one seems to have gone in there yet. It appears the factory settings work well.

This is EXACTLY what I need to get started with the R5. I won’t have to open the user manual now. Besides, the manual will not explain the various modes and options as well as this guy, so this setup tutorial is invaluable. TFS!

Was he shooting in ES? Lots of bending outer wings...but sometimes I'm not sure if that is distortion or just SS. Lots of nice frames. He was using the older lenses so if he was in MS he would have been down in that stuttering, almost unusable mode that T&C showed us with the 500L. Unfortunately I don't speak Cantonese or Mandarin so the only words I caught were CFExpress and High Temperature Warning
I don't speak Cantonese but I can read his Chinese caption. He was using ES, and he did mention about rolling shutter, he saw some horizontal lines at wingtip in many photos, and he did not found this in another trip for shooting eagles. He got high temperature warning message after shooting 8000+ photos, but camera was still working.

Here's a video from the guy who found out that he could record for hours with an external recorder with the cards removed...this is his summary of the R5:

The Canon EOS R5: A (Nearly) Perfect Hybrid
The R5 is still one of the best cameras available, even with limits first realized the first days of release. But once this guy and others started to show the potential of the R5, there's practically nothing quite like it when all is considered.
Didn't realize No Life posted this extra video, but thanks for sharing.
"I was horrified to see the CIPA claim of 220 frames’ battery life when using the EVF – that’s about ten seconds of using the R5 at full chat.
In the real world, CIPA’s claim is thankfully about as accurate as an amateur darts player on a rollercoaster. By the time the battery had depleted to 34% I had shot 1,378 images."

Lot's of people reporting long battery life and getting 12fps as low as 25% battery left.

Yeah, Canon was stupid to actually write down a hard number (60%) because obviously it isn't a hard number and all it caused was more controversy and negative press. They should have just kept their vague statement that they've always used.

I thought 60% was stupid too. Just got everyone worked up. They used to say low battery capacity and should have continued to do so.

Very thoughtful comments on R5 for street photography in combination with 85mm f2
One thing worth interjecting.
He compared the R5 autofocus to a 1DX mk iii. Did he use the R5 just once in rain, or several days including clear weather? And had he used the 1DX mk iii in rain also? Thinking about the effect of falling rain drops.
Made me feel like autumn was here again, and one of few things I miss about Portland (another city). We're in southern Oregon and get about 6 weeks less moist weather than north Oregon. But I prefer the rainy seasons for life and photography.

I understood he said at the beginning he did shot before promo material for Canon Malaysia and this was his last hour before he had to return the camera and 1DX mk III is his main camera.

Nice to hear from a fellow Oregonian who appreciates the variety of seasons!
I'm posted in Lincoln City for the next 10 months for work.
