Hmmmm.....got to start somewhere I guess.....
This will be an easy camera to use for many who struggled. Also IMO with Canon getting rid of Cases 5/6, AF Switching from the parameters and creating a new separate Switching Tracked Subjects (STS) menu will make it easier for people to understand the system. I haven't seen anyone even trying adjust anything in any videos yet so my guess is they are in Case 1 and STS 1, which appears to be the factory setting. STS at 0 even makes the AF more sticky.
Add that they got rid of AI Servo 1st and 2nd priority options makes it even better. One less thing to worry about. We learned how to control our cameras and now we are back in P mode when it comes to the AF menus. If you think about there is not much to it now.

Was he shooting in ES? Lots of bending outer wings...but sometimes I'm not sure if that is distortion or just SS. Lots of nice frames. He was using the older lenses so if he was in MS he would have been down in that stuttering, almost unusable mode that T&C showed us with the 500L. Unfortunately I don't speak Cantonese or Mandarin so the only words I caught were CFExpress and High Temperature Warning

Overall he got the job done, the r5 seems to be right on the edge for distortion. Hard to tell if its DOF / wing blur or slow shutter speed speed...

Not a review, but yes they work in general, and in this video.
Maybe I missed it. I saw G master or Zeiss glass on the Sony A7S iii in that video. Do you recall what part of the video shows Canon EF glass mounted on that Sony body?

?t=788 or about 12:50
But upon closer inspection, he is using a Sigma EF lens with the adapter.
I would be shocked if they did not work, as they worked fine on my A7rIII and A7rIV.

I found it unusual to hear someone say that the A7S iii did not autofocus with Canon glass. But even if it were true, it would seem like a possible quick-fix with firmware.

Only missing one thing from that comparison.....THE KING
Of course this comparison is probably more fair being all the high-MP offerings.
Not sure why he didn't show the H+ modes through the Atmos as they behave a lot different on the Sony and Nikon.
I had thought that H on the Canon had blackout (based on the T&C video where the FPS was dropped via the old lens) but in Fro's test it seems H (with a proper lens) does do the quick frame insertion leading to a nice blackout free EVF.
The RIV in that H setting is giving a live feed but along with that comes the shutter blackout as with the Z7.
In H+ the Z7 and A7RIV use frame insertion so look more like the Canon does in this video. But I think the Canon probably has the best way of doing it. The A7RIV is pretty easy to shoot in H+ and the Z7 is okay but not great.
