I don't know if this was brought up before but I just found it trying to read through the Japanese Canon site via Google Translate:

"Newly equipped [High-speed continuous shooting +] mode that does not display live view during shooting. High-speed continuous shooting of up to approximately 12 frames/second is possible even when using the mechanical shutter/electronic front curtain."
So that is suggesting to me that H+ mechanical on the R6 at 12FPS is not a live feed. But if you select 8FPS (H) then you get a live feed with just shutter blackout as expected. This is the same way the A7RIV works (and I think the Nikon Z) where the fastest frame rates in mechanical don't do a live display but slower frame rates do.
I do not find this same notation in the R5's section. But the sections are written a bit different so I don't think we can say one way or the other if the R5 has that same limitation or not. I would bet that it does as it would seem easier to have alive feed in a 20MP sensor than a 45MP sensor but we shall see.

"[High-speed display], which improves the display frame rate, can also be selected when the EF lens or EF-S lens is attached in addition to the RF lens."
So that means EF adapting has gotten rid of the one "gotcha" that the EOS R had. At least on the R5 as this isn't mentioned on the R6's similar paragraph.
Also this note from the R5: "When using the electronic shutter, [High-speed display] to improve the display frame rate is always executed."

I'm probably not understanding that first one correctly, but aren't they talking about LV on the LCD screen? Or are they saying there is no live view in H+ mechanical through the EVF? In other words using frame insertion or something. That seems odd for mechanical is it not?
On the last one. Are they saying that the EVF will automatically go to 120fps when shooting @ 20fps ES rather than the lower setting of 60fps if you have it set by default?

For the first one I'm reading it that mechanical at 12FPS will have frame insertion and the shutter blackout. This is very common. Every MILC I've owned (other than the A9) does this at the highest mechanical FPS as I mentioned about the RIV and Z series.
For the last one, yes, that is how I read it that in ES it is always 120hz and in mechanical you can choose 120Hz or 60Hz but more importantly with adapted EF glass which the EOS R could not do. Which is great news and probably means the adapted EF glass has no EVF/AF limitations. Meaning the only limitation for adapting EF glass with IS is that the IS and IBIS don't communicate fluently to provide as good as stabilization as a IS RF lens does. But we know that the IBIS still compensates for a couple directions that the EF IS lens doesn't so in a way they do work together but just not in communication.
This one thing has me now thinking about the 400DOII again on an R5....hmmmm.....now I need to convince Pius he doesn't need a 400DOII anymore and that their value has tanked on the used market

I can read a bit of Japanese, and the first sentence on the R6 page is structured rather oddly to me anyway.
撮影中にライブビュー表示を行わない[高速連続撮影+]モードを新搭載。
Which translates to
When photographing in the new mode (High-speed Continuous Shooting +) the live-view display doesn't work.
Edit: Another possibly more correct translation that might work given the vague-ish sentence and the 表示 noun..

Speaking of IBIS. I recall hearing a long time ago that IBIS is pretty much meaningless once one goes long with super teles. I've not heard anyone talk about this at all during all the R5/6 chatter.
Is this still correct and if so, why is that?

Because the longer the focal length the more compensation/movement you need at the sensor (in the absence of lens stabilization)

Canon numbers are cumulative, lens and body IS combined, and only in certain conditions based on lens. I only post this because there will be some that dont know this, while the rest of us do!

I don't think that's entirely correct. The RF 28-70 f/2 and 85 f/1.2 are listed by Canon in the 8 stops IBIS category and they are not IS lenses. I think those are the only ones though and all others would be cumulative.

Apparently the you don't get full coverage of the evf with ef glass but still that's pretty darn good...

Yeah, the 1DXIII is 100% vertical and 90% horizontal (drops to 80x80 for some older lenses and TCs) so that is probably all it is. I also can handle a 10% loss on the sides.
