Electronic VF are completely useless for what I do. They all have a time lag that make them useless. However I think we are not far off from being able to have AF point selection anywhere in the Optical VF and that would be ideal.

I have gone through a few photos from my crappy light photo session with some chummed gulls and the 1DX/600III/various teleconverters. I've been quite pleased with the camera's ability to track some of these birds coming straight at me, even with the 2X TC III attached. This camera is by no means perfect, but it's a significant improvement over my 1DX2. All OVF on these shots. Without showing 45 pictures in a row in focus, individual shots don't do much, but here are some any way.

1200mm, f/11, 1/2000, ISO 2500. I did some adjustments in Lightroom an used Topaz Noise Reduction

Thanks! Still working LR look for these.

I think he wears glasses but they polarized/tinted the ones he wears for hockey a bit I think. I can see his eyes through them when I zoom in on other images. (the one I posted earlier in thread, his eyes are closed)

Heh, yeah. None of the kids in this league (8yrs and under) are using them yet.

300mm, f/3.2, 1/1250, ISO2500. No cropping except straightening. Shot about a stop low...I struggle to intentionally blow out the ice a bit.
