Any purchaser of a LLL 50mm f/1.2 '1966' over the past few months- how is QC doing at this point? Any issues? Either in optics, mechanics, barrel lettering?
Also, how are the finishes holding up for those who have purchased 6 months ago or longer?
Many thanks -
I've had mine for over a year. The finish is more durable than the higher gloss black paint of the 8-element and the slightly-less-high-gloss black paint of the 'Elcan.' I treat my things kindly, so there is barely any wear on the '1966.'
My only gripe is that they need to figure out how to craft guides and helicoids with tighter tolerances. All three of my LLL lenses have a small amount of play. It does not affect the image quality at all, but it makes the experience feel a little cheap.

Have we heard any update on the double aspherical?
I asked about an AA target date last week, I received the somewhat cryptic/ broad answer “2025”
I also have the Leica metal hood "12585H", which fits the Rigid and many other Leica lenses. It also works with the LLL. It’s much larger but includes the rangefinder visibility holes.
