Thanks. I had no idea this was to be available. I just might get the 75mm since it just might suit my needs better than getting the Leica 75 1.4.

I would prefer an f2.0 like my 50 SP2, but that LLL video is confusing as it might look like they have a rear filter that can be fitted? Not sure what I am looking at there.
Will see when the M adapter becomes available for the SP3 lenses in 2024. It's the T2.4 that is different, but then again it's only a half a stop. Having an original Cooke lens might be desirable.
Checked verbally with BH today and they are clueless about these new lenses. Very disappointing to waste my time thinking they had answers about M or L mounted SP3 lenses. They don't even know about the RF ones either. They just kept saying they are Sony E mount compatible. That I can see on their website.
Will now look for way to contact Cooke directly.
Just had a terrific call with Cooke. They are currently mounting and shimming RF mounts to the SP3 lenses. Within 1-2 months they will do the same with L mounts. Then in early 2024 they will start M mounts with their needed shims.

I haven’t kept track, but it seems like he keeps very few lenses for long. Can’t understand his criticism of f/2.8 being too soft for video, more like not enough DOF and/or missed focus. It definitely is a long lens for 50mm M, but not like that’s any surprise. I want to tell him, just sell your lens, dude, you don’t need an excuse for G.A.S. We understand.
It’s not like he runs a lens review channel or something 😅
I saw that the Elcan is available again and I was wondering what were the differences in term of rendering with the Panchro, bokeh bubbles, outlining, curvatures or swirl, flares, glow…?
I’m tempted and I guess the size of it is the big plus.

They both share a similar classic aesthetic, so you can expect to see characteristics like glow, veiling, and bokeh outlining in both lenses. The key distinction with the Panchro is that, although much larger, it maintains sharpness across the frame when fully open. In contrast, the Elcan is primarily sharp in the center but experiences a noticeable decline in sharpness just outside this central area. This reduction in resolution is a common trait in vintage lens designs, but I personally find the sharpness drop-off in the Elcan to be quite pronounced. Apart from that, I found the lens to be well-constructed, compact, and enjoyable to use.
