Very nice, Robert! Now that you are adapting the 400/5.6 on Sony, have you considered adapting it to Canon M6 II? Its 32MP crop sensor is equivalent to over 80MP full frame, giving you even more reach in a compact package. Sure you also need an adapter, but I expect native Canon adapter works even better than MC-11 on Sony?
Sha I did think about it....but several reasons why not.
1. I'm still not over Canon's jerking us around on features, upgrades, and pricing...this firmly in my mind after Sony did
that huge huge huge update on the a9 via the two firmware updates and didn't charge us a thing. Canon would have
done that over two camera body releases at $6000 a pop. Rubbed me the wrong way.
2. 36mp on a crop is even more dense than the A7Riv in crop eh and I live by pixel density-in my area of dark gloom
pixel density gives the cropabilty for sure but the push on ISO concomitant with pixel density is probably more than
I can deal with here.
3. The pop-on/add-on EVF kills me! Seems like I had another Canon years ago with this type of afterthought. Heck even
my dinky RX100vi pops up!
No sir, for my next APS-C journey I'm going down the dark Fuji hole.....that old EOS 400/5.6 will adapt to it well the Fuji
X-T3 users promise me and I think 26mpx is probably the happy spot for crop sensor use in my area.
I need to emphasize 'in my area', now where you live I'd still be all over Olympus!
