Is there a way to use silent shooting, but still have a fake shutter sound like on the a9.
I find when it's fully silent, I rattle off 10 photos at a time, cause I can't tell it's firing.
I have silent shutter on, audio signals on, and I don't hear anything.

I don't think so, but are you finding the shutter is too loud with EFCS enabled? I find the shutter on the A7RIV is pretty well dampened and way quieter than my A7III.

No, no, the shutter isn't loud at all.
I'm just kind of used to the a9 and the sounds it can make while using silent shutter, and I was trying to copy that to the a7RIV.
There are times that I feel I could use the silents shutter mode, but with out any feedback, I have trouble knowing when I'm shooting.
I guess what I'm saying is silent is too silent.
I know, some people are never happy.

Not that I know of but I never felt the Riv's shutter loud. Just put it beside a 1DXii's shutter sound haha!
I do use silent on the Riv a lot working close in the blinds. Love it.
Congratulations on this primo body Dave. Has come to be my favorite of all time, even though I use it in cropper mode 90 percent of the time.

No, unfortunately there is no fake sound option on the A7RIV. Only the A9/A9II has that.
Also there is no option for the blue border flash around the focus point instead of the default outer frame white flash.
The blue flash is much easier to see when shooting on the A9 without fake shutter enabled.

The A7RIV is new to me, so I was having a little fun with the DR. A before and after portrait of my kid. Taken with the Sony Zeiss 35mm @ f/2.5.
Mac is 14 years old and still loves to play with his stuffed bear. We've been advised by our vet to keep the play time to a minimum due to a mass on his spleen (he's not a good candidate for removal), but my wife and I will cherish the time we have with him, no matter how long it will be.
All from the first week of owning and figuring it out (coming off of Nikon D850 land). All with the Sony 100-400GM. PS I LOVE this camera and after 20 plus loyal Nikon years I have switched to Sony with no regrets! (outside of cost, lol).
Checking out sharpness with the A7RIV and my vintage Contax 35-70mm Zoom lens. I shot this old tree at F11 with a 1/3 sec exposure and a 50 ISO. I am not sure how they will show up here but I was shocked how sharp it was at 100%. The color version had zero CA.
