I use one with my 200-600 with great success and plan to use it with the 600 GM (if I don't talk myself out of buying one).
It should work just fine, I would say. I am using a monopod head instead in combination with my harness support for my monopod. I am using that for the image below. I stacked 2 extension tubes (10 and 16mm) for that lens to be able to focus closer to get the magnification for that tiny hummingbird.

Thanks for asking the question. I didn't even know this existed. I watched a YT video review of this head, and after 30 sec I turned if off and ordered one.

Judging from the previous responses, this is quite the popular support apparatus! You can add two more to the list, as Shibu shoots almost exclusively with his monopod and MH-100, and I have one as well that I use when I leave the tripod at home.
I am using the MonoGimbal. It works well with the 600mm/4

You guys just cost me some $$....I ordered the mono-gimbal...it is in the mail...I've been using my monopod with larger gimbal more often recently. Hoping this will give me the same functionality and be much lighter/smaller to pack.
Relative to the cost of the 600mm. it is peanuts.
I am considering a new monopod though.. any advice as the lightest but sturdy for the 600mm?

I've got the Acratech GP ballhead sitting here collecting dust. It claims to do the same basic thing as the MH-100 but I've only ever used it on a tripod in a conventional way. Might need to try this out before investing...

I've only every owned one monopod and it is a Feisol. Works fine but my leg sections have always been a bit sticky to move (more like there is air pressure buildup rather than friction). I'm sure there are lots of good options out there now from the Chinese companies and the big $$$ brands. I've never paid much attention to monopods as it always seemed like anything would work. Lightweight, small packing size and smooth operation would be my key factors if I was to buy a new one. I wouldn't be concerned with strength all that much.
