I think that if you put it in mode 2 (designed for panning) there's no issues. You will love the light weight - this is something that Nikon is really behind with, as the Canon 600/4 is the same weight as this Sony. The Nikon is a tank.

I don't follow his reasoning; he states that he can shoot at a particular shutter speed with a much smaller, easier-to-hold-still lens which is only 400mm, but can't get the same results at the same shutter speed with a much larger 600mm lens. Well, duh!
I posted a similar image previously but not this one... If there is no need for cropping or only some cropping, files from the A9 II are really sweet no matter how you slice or dice them. Here is one...
