The details in the original file are way better. I am not sure but it seems that my recent uploads are not that sharp anymore. I didn't change anything on my end...
Here is another image taken 2 weeks ago of a flycatcher...
One of the situations when using 1200mm could only get you an environmental capture... The yellow orangey areas are some dry grass of the marsh that was still lit by the very low sun. The dead tree where the owl perched is in the shade already. The sun disappeared behind the hill already there. There was no need for that high shutter speed of course but I had a brain fart and forgot to change that... Oh, well .

What a prolific day, resulting in sweet images, Geoff! I have similar images of the Northern Harrier, even the shooting circumstances and surroundings are similar and also taken with the same setup. No owls here though...
