Absolutely price worthy ! I would enter that image in a wildlife-theme contest, Shalu!

Cropped 1:1 image to show what is possible with the A7Riv and 600GM handheld.
This is SOOC except for +33 shadoes and +2 vibrance.

This combo really works well for smaller hikes and walks, using a Blackrapid sling. To be honest, I wasn't too happy when I used the A7Riv with my old 100-400 w/1.4TC in NYC Central Park, but with the extra light from the 600GM, it really sings.

Less cropped version in the Birds and Wildlife thread.

Kim

Went for a walk this afternoon after the sun made a rare appearance, and was denied any shots except for this lone Marsh Wren.

Not the greatest image quality given the lens, but heavily cropped, and hand-held on low-light day.
(a9) 1/2000 sec; 1.4 extender; f/5.6; ISO 5000; +1.3 exp. comp.

Sony A9ii, 600mm f/4 GM, 1.4xTC
1/60, f/8, ISO 1600

I switched from flikr to imgur for file hosting. For some reason the images come out much larger with imgur for the same file size and dimensions. Is the image too large, can't seem to reduce the size (2048 pixels longest dimension originally as I upload to both flikr and imgur).

The look of the ring-necked duck is intense - well done capturing that and on all them, Colin!

Wow, Roel, those are some unusual looking owls and you did well capturing them!

Your new image hosting site seems to be letting you post whatever size you upload. Normally, I post images at 1500 pixels on the long end directly to FM from my files at home. But since I am not home right now, I downloaded the image below from my Lightroom collection on my iPad and it lets me do so just a single size. It is larger than the 1500 pixels on the long end and it is compressed quite a bit.

Thanks, will resize images and try uploading at 1500 pixels.

I got up at 4:45 this morning to drive north on Vancouver Island to Deep Bay in order to capture a bird which is one of my nemesis - the Long-tailed Duck. Lamentably, there were only two females, which don't have the graceful, long tail.

These images are not great IQ wise, but conditions were horrific. Low light, very distant birds requiring the 2X extender on the 600mm f/4, and cropping! However....

Very nice set of shots!

As an FYI, the loon is a Common Loon.

I just purchased an A9 and a 200-600... kind of wishing I hadn't bought my Canon 600iii earlier this year. I'm thinking I'm going to love the SONY experiment! Your shots with this lens have been exceptional.

Yes, the a9 with the Sony 600 f/4 is killer. Abandon ship!

From this morning using a 2X TC albeit not for BIF . It is just amazing the details that can be obtained using this combo, especially on a 61-MP body...
