It certainly is a big place but our owl location is only 20mins from the ferry port in Tsawwassen, BC.
The Greyhound bus system is no more at least in Canada but they have these new things that actually can fly you here

One of my fav birds. I have been watching the reports of these guys very closely in my country but they are all spotted very far away and the weather is not coorporative either. Heck, i do not even own a camera at this very moment. So I'll just enjoy your post with a little envy.

Thanks. Yes there are always a couple near the entrance gates of the Reifel Bird Sanctuary near Ladner. I went there to look for Saw-whet owl before shooting the shorties. Never found the Saw-whet but managed a partially unobstructed view of the BcNH.

Tried out the A9+200-600 combo yesterday. Spent a long time deleting shots from the A9's 20FPS. There is certainly no lack of wing positions to choose from. I think I will use a lower setting.
