The provided Optical SteadyShot modes make it more convenient to capture sharp images in handheld shooting under various conditions. For example, Mode 21 stabilization facilitates dynamic panned shots, and Mode 3 provides optimum stabilization for tracking and shooting dynamic, unpredictable sporting action.
Anybody experimented with these modes plus OSS and found any significant differences /assistance? Particularly with the R4?
I did a little testing and found that Mode 1 seems to work best for me with the R4 with static subjects and BIF. Even panning Mode 1 seemed more stable. Have not really tried Mode 3 yet which I might today. Others may be able to give better information.

The one local 200-600G for rent here in Seattle was booked up for the next week+, (and was rented out last weekend) so I just rented one for a week from LensRentals and it will arrive on Monday.
I'm told by Glazers here in Seattle that it's been a very popular rental lens and they only have one copy unfortunately.
If I like it enough compared to my 600/5.6 ED-IF AIS Nikkor I will likely buy a copy.

I've been shooting OSS + Mode 3. No idea is this is better than the other modes yet--need more time. But I was impressed I was able to get this nervous little one twitting around the edge of the shore at 1/250 hand held extended out to 600MM. I'd say the OSS is pretty impressive on this lens and 61MPs. Focus was on the eye of course for the 3 seconds the birdied was still.
Beautiful capture. Nice light! Harriers visit the Orlando Wetlands every year and amaze with their silent speed from zero to I don't know how fast in the seconds It takes me to raise the camera/lens.
