Great shot!

A robin in Lackford Lakes. I actually held the shutter while the bird took off but surprisingly the A9's AF didn't pick it up at all. Was using tracking spot L, would a smaller spot have made the difference?

Great shot Tony. What are you using for noise reduction on the A9 at ISO 8000? I just picked up an A9 and want to know how far I can push the ISO... Thanks.

Getting use to my brand new 200-600mm lens. Only took me 300 shots to finally nail a small bird flying right at me but hey last week it took me over 700 with my 100-400mm so I must be getting better. Man those little birds move fast! Wish it could have been a little sharper but oh well. Still captured that bullet.

Not too many birds were taking flight in the mid-late afternoon on Christmas Day, so here is a couple of sandhill cranes, which I believe are a mated pair as I haven't seen any other cranes around them over the last couple of weeks.

Catch of the Day
I can't tell what the ex-bird was, but the eagle sure went to town on it, throwing feathers in every direction as it ate. Holiday Lunch by lennycarl08, on Flickr
“The provided Optical SteadyShot modes make it more convenient to capture sharp images in handheld shooting under various conditions. For example, Mode 21 stabilization facilitates dynamic panned shots, and Mode 3 provides optimum stabilization for tracking and shooting dynamic, unpredictable sporting action.”
Anybody experimented with these modes plus OSS and found any significant differences /assistance? Particularly with the R4?
