It would have been interesting to see the difference had you used the APS-C mode (900mm) just to see what the difference would have been to not have bothered with the 1.4x TC.

I was actually using APS-c mode for this image for an effective focal length of 1260mm. Crazy! To actually test it against the bare lens in crop mode, I'd have to be on a tripod so it would be meaningful. Plus the bee would have to stay put.

These were in the evening. The owlets branched out Thursday evening, the mother has been stashing meals on the branch the owlets are on. This meal she brought in was a chick of some sort and the main course was a coot which was already there and the owlet tried eating it on its own
Excellent Ronnie. BTW, I've just ordered a set of extension tubes that I want to try on the 200-600. Taken plenty of shots at the min distance on dragons and damsels, but want to try something more with it.
