Thanks Douglas!
These are the first decent shots I’ve ever had of an F-22.
The last time I tried was in 2011. The jet didn’t fly and the only opportunity we had to shoot it was when it left. I was using a Canon 7D and a 300mm. I thought I had some great stuff - you know how it is: you tend to get a feeling for when you got it right. Unfortunately, when I put the camera down, I noticed that the rear screen had gone black. The card had crashed and of the 33 frames, I got 8 back, using recovery software.
I guess stealth really does work!
Anyhow, I was pretty happy with this stuff and I’m about to go and get some of them printed.

Sorry to hear about the card issue! They only perform at airshows outside the U.S. a few times a year, so it got to be like a kid in a candid store for you to see it. This year outside of the US, they only performed at one show in Australia and will perform at one show in Canada. Which camera body did you use?
I expect to see it at 4 airshows near me this year, hopefully it will make some vapor cones!

A7 III. Good unit, probably better than most people here realise. Made a few operator errors though. I kept wondering why it was losing focus. Having raved to everyone about how I'd gone about 80% of the way to solving the AF issues with my old Olympus E-M1 by using the focus limiter switch on the adapted Canon 300mm F/2.8, I promptly forgot to use it on the Sony! Idiot! Also needed a bit more than 1/1000 to get a clean image so I bumped it up to 1/2000 and the problems went away.
I was tempting fate a bit too. I had just bought a new Lexar card with 300/260 Mbps and I hadn't used it before. But I thought it was worth a try, despite the negative reports I've heard about them. It performed very well. Once I got my shots, I didn't dare breathe until I got the pics home and into the computer! Would I crash the car on the drive home, would the camera be stolen? Haha! Anyhow, it was all good in the end.
The F-22 is a show stopper. Everyone stops when it takes off, mostly because it's just so loud, though the F-35 was louder. The South Koreans were very good. Real wingtip-in-the-lap stuff. Great little jet too.

Yep.
The F-22 pilot was also Australian. Can’t remember his name, only that his call sign was ‘Boomerang’.
Interesting. I didn't know pilots of other countries ever fly the F-22 since it hasn't been sold to any other countries. I thought this F-22 demo team was the same team from Langley AFB in Virginia and the pilot was Maj. Joshua "Cabo" Gunderson. Anyway, it's way off topic. The 200-600 is a great lens for airshows.

Madera Canyon AZ never disappoints. I heard a commotion on the deck behind the lodge and figured I should investigate, glad I did. A Northern Pygmy-Owl landed next to the deck with breakfast, a very unlucky goldfinch. Sadly the owl never turned around before flying away.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52734629834_658af4f8e2_o.jpgA7rV. Taken in my backyard 2 days ago. I hadn't gotten a moon shot with my new camera lens combo so pulled it out when I saw it while out at the hot tub. By the time I got set up clouds were obscuring it and I barely managed to snap this before it disappeared. Didn't think it was worth much but some extreme dehaze+clarity+brightening-masking the moon produced this.
