For those who wonder if the 200-600 focuses fast, this guy just crested over the trees and was equally surprised to see me as I was to see him just come right over the top of trees and dive on the other side. And despite this instantenuous recompose and acquire focus, the images are sharp (and I still kick myself for clipping the wing but he was really close).

Working on getting sharper BIF images with the 200-600 1.4TC.
Pretty happy with how these turned out, despite being bigger crops than I would have liked.
Need to push the shutter speed up a bit more because about 50% still have some motion blur visible in the eyes and beak but some cost of higher iso for that.

A few more. Pacific Swallow. Flying from right to left, these were more challenging, as the foreground/background are busier and the birds are flying very close to the ground.
