A few birds on this cold day including my first Northern Flicker in the yard. Believe it’s a female. Certainly not the best shot, but was nice to see a new bird
edit - I was wrong, someone corrected me, it's a female Red-Bellied Woodpecker, not a Northern Flicker.

Hobby chasing Galah (for breakfast presumably)
Just a repost from the Wildlife group but I thought it might be of interest to the 200-600 users. These are taken with the 1.4TC and keeps up easily with super fast action against a very busy background.
Ends well for the Galah!
Some video footage at 240fps of one chase and stills of the 90 frames (3 seconds) from another chase attempt.
Impressive how the hobby can fly through pretty dense tree branches at high speed and at the same time having a go at the galahs. Bear in mind that is 8x slow motion.
Some images - apologies in advance - pretty hard keeping anything in the frame. Sadly none really qualify as keepers but some persistence and luck might eventually result in some captures of them flying toward the light. Impressive tracking against that busy background though.
At this point Galah’s buddies all head off after them, no doubt to effect a rescue if necessary.

Some reasonably sharp images from the 200-600 with 1.4TC. Shutter speed was a bit low for the BIF images so some have a tiny bit of motion blur evident on the eye/beak. I was also not quite in position when the bird took off so I missed the best angle for light as can be seen in the last few images that are well lit up but when the bird is already just past me, and the background was also too close for good subject/background separation. Sun perhaps a little too high (bright) already.
Nevertheless the camera has no trouble tracking the subject.
