I was looking at this thread to see if I could get by learning birding with a sony 200-600 ..... and it's obviously sharp enough but I also realized that there is no point in me even trying this since y'all are already so good at it that there are enough bird pictures for the world already

Mandarin duck .. very rarely seen in our parts
This guy was hiding among reeds in a local park most of the time, seemingly in love with a female mallard.
The pond had deep edges and this is the closest I could get to the water surface, so the background is busier than I like.
Still, what a beautiful bird
