Right now all the leaves are coming on European beech or common beech if it is now the correct pronunciation (Bokskog in Swedish)
So green that it almost hurts the eye

After the war I grew up in Northern Germany, right next to the Solling, a pretty large area with extensive Beech and Oak forests. Fresh greens in the Spring were always special.
There were also some European Larch Trees, growing fresh green needles in the Spring that smelled wonderfully when rubbing their needles between your fingers.
