I'm biased because Peregrines are my favourite birds but this is a beautiful shot

Thank you very much, Leon! They are my favorites, too, among others! The details of the bullfinch are amazing. But it seemed that there is something not quite right with its beak. . Not sure what that is...

Here is another image of the same male falcon taken from a different angle, hence the different background. The first image is a large crop, virtually 100% crop of the second image, posted mostly to show the entire frame. And the last image is that of the female, which is noticeably larger than the male. I believe that the female already laid eggs in the nest by now...

A year ago I bought a used A9 and new 200-600 to upgrade from my aps-c and sigma 150-600. Definitely worth the upgrade.

Photo cross posted in the Sony FE Image Thread and taken at 3:54 PM.

Looking at a Snowy Egret in breeding plumage in the foreground and a Wood Stork partially visible in the background. The difference in size between the birds is quite evident.
Cropped from the left, tripod mounted 200-600mm G set to 312mm and A7rIII; silent shutter.
ISO 200, f6.3, 1/80 second.

There has been some comments about people being excited about using the A1 for shooting swallows and it appears several have indicated what a challenge it was to shoot these birds with the A7Riv and 200-600. I had never tried shooting swallows before a couple of days ago when I happened to be at a location where there were a bunch of Tree Swallows flying around. It was a fairly breezy day and I have to admit it seemed daunting to try and photograph these quick and erratic targets. But what the heck, always up for a new challenge. So after about 30 minutes here are some of my results. What do you think?

It's not looking at you, but the hate is implied by now.

I didn't even think about that. Maybe it wasn't the crows, maybe she just doesn't want to look at me.
I think the little one already knows to hate me.

Had the day off today so woke up early to get to the NWR and it was all rain and heavy clouds. Still made the trip, cloudy most of the day (sun broke through for a little while) with lots of sparrows and red-wings.

Nice images!

Is that a downy or a hairy woodpecker? Can never tell the difference...

They rebuilt the boardwalks in the local NWR, this one goes out to the marsh. I was hoping to catch the red-wings out here but they were shy.
