p.206 #1 · Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G Image Thread
Fun day out shooting even if the weather was pretty cold (~9F with the windchill). Started out with some Snow Buntings and Red Crossbills. Did see 2 Long Eared Owls but there were being shy for photos. Got to the beach for some Sanderlings then ended the day with some Eagle (separate post).

This is the same falcon from the previous page. It landed fairly close to the spot I was standing, requiring less than 300mm to get the entire bird. And no stinkin’ bird Eye-AF needed here .

Thank you very much, Dan! Sometimes, I did get lucky, the distance to the falcon was so close that it felt I could pet that bird . I didn’t check it but I knew it was really close to or at the minimum focusing distance of the lens.

Pretty new to Bird photography, my third or fourth try with the A7R4 + 200-600mm with 1.4x Teleconverter. Just trying out the settings from Mark Smith, pointing/shooting anything that moves. Pleasantly surprised with what I can recover from the RAW file. I did not bother to look at it, till a few days later, when I pulled it out to practice editing with capture 21 (after getting it to startup - kept crashing at launch).
