Looking at a Tricolored Heron and Reflection.
Fairly Heavily Cropped, tripod mounted Sony 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G zoom lens set to 600mm and Sony A7rIII camera; silent shutter.
ISO 500, f8.0, 1/2000 second.
Exposure corrected +0.88 Stops.

Thank you! I shot maybe 10 airshows with the Nikon D500+Sigma 150-600 Sports, fabulous combo. They were the last Nikon gears I sold before I went 100% Sony.

I want to thank Geoff, Joshua and others for sharing their tips on the A7RIV+200-600 combo. Although I had the A7RIV and the A9 with me yesterday, I wanted to experiment the A7RIV+200-600 combo more, so all these pictures were taken with the A7RIV with or without the 1.4 TC, mostly with. I got noticeable sharper images this time compared to the last three outings. I think, the big contributing factor this time is I increased the shutter speed from 1/2000 to 1/2500 or even 1/3200. I used real time tracking L spot, AF tracking sensitivity at 1, OSS at 3.
I am happy with the results, just wish the A7RIV's FPS were higher...

Sweet eagle images, Douglas! I am glad you did get that combo to work. Like I mentioned somewhere else, that camera has become my body of choice for bird photography lately. However, I still reserve the A9 II for fast and flyers with more unpredictable flight pattern. But the cropping ability of that sensor is nothing to sneeze at, for sure. BTW, at 10 FPS the burst rate is not bad but the buffer doesn't clear that fast due to the large file size.
