Just something special about these images Joshua! The colors, the contrast between feather detail and how the feathers lay, the bg is tremendous!!
Again!! SUPER job
Dan
Thank you again, Dan! How about a little bit of a kite action for a change ? It was from fairly late in the afternoon yesterday... (cross-posted)

Absolutely beautiful capture Joshua. In my opinion, this kite is the most gorgeous of all raptor species.

Some individual Swallows. Really overcast day which was good and bad, no harsh sun but it was a little drab for attempted SIF (Swallow in flight) shots

From this morning's trip to the bridge to watch cedar waxwings catching flies. Not sure when fly season will be over. Still haven't got that home run image I can see as I watch them, but at least I can hit some singles now. These are mostly 6 Mp crops out of the 24 the A9 gives me. The birds do come a lot closer, but they are going about 40 miles an hour while they feed, and not in straight lines, so I can't keep them in the frame long enough. At least the images give *some* idea of how acrobatic they are, and the flashes of color you get as they swerve. Someday one will come straight at me out of the dark and stay in line long enough... All are at 1/2000 sec at iso 3200, A9 + 200-600 + 1.4TC.

Nothing special, just backyard visitors. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get out to a bird sanctuary with this lens this afternoon. But 104-115F temps make it difficult.

These are dramatic and impressive images! These are definitely challenging shooting conditions trying to capture fast flying CWWs. I like the darkish background against the CWW, making them stand out.
