My first ever Golden. Found 30ish miles south of Billings Montana on this most recent trip.
Yep I was elated. Always wanted to see one. Had the pros at Whatbird.com confirm it is Aquila chrysaetos. Only thing in my mind that beats a new eagle is an owl

Thanks for the CC much appreciated , its the usual problem here of white or grey sky so I try to cut most of it out
This is around an old mill where a pair of Peregrines live , it is lower down but still great to watch them . I'm sometimes lucky and get to spot a family around Bempton cliffs which is much better , I got a shot of one of the juveniles last time but it was using my D850 and 200-500
I consider myself lucky in terms of the sky in Southern California. Especially, if the action happens fairly early in the morning and when the sky is somewhat covered with slight haze, creating fairly soft indirect light, like this one here. This is basically the perspective of peregrine falcons here. Either approximately eye level if they fly fairly high or a perspective from above, like the one I posted earlier here.
This female peregrine is showing off her flight skill and speed. It is one of the 20 or so frames in a sequence. FYI, the land mass on the right is the Palos Verdes Peninsula, a posh area/community of expensive houses with ocean view.

I updated the the firmware for the A7RIV, took it out today to try it on some hummers and bugs, I FELT () the AF is more sure footed. I got a very high % of the hummers sucking on flowers in focus. I will post those later.

Thank you, Robert! I love your eagle shot! Like you, I need to find some owls....
A couple shots from yesterday with the A7RIV+200-600. I didn't use the A7RIV much for hummers in the past so this is not really a comparison. I would say 8/10 hummer shots from yesterday are in focus, the ones that were not in focus were mostly because the camera picked the leaves or the flowers as focus point, most of the shots that the camera picked out the hummers were in focus, at least to my eyes. Not sure if that had anything to do with the new firmware.
I need to get some of these salvia plants for my hummingbird garden, they seem to like them quite a bit even though they are not red.

Beautiful light in the first set, Geoff. Are you warming up to the A7RIV? I just ordered a couple "hot lip salvia" and black and blue savlia plants to expand my hummingbird garden. I have some salvia flowers there now but most of them are not the right types for me.

Decided to try a gimbal for the 200-600mm. Couldn't justify the money for a Wimberley, so went for a knock-off (Movo), but so far I'm quite happy with it, and how it helps me follow the birds.

I feel your pain. I still shoot my D850/500PF at time for MP. Alas not as many sharp keepers.
Tbh Bryan I’m finding the D850 + 200-500 sharper than my A9ii 200-600 although I am lot more used to the Nikon . Still enjoying the Sony , it’s a lovely camera to use . After a week with the Sony I tried the Nikon and found it quite old ? in comparison
