Finally, got one I like. (I'm a total beginner at bird shots.)
You're doing better than me on hummers. My score=0.
Please tell me the plant.
I'm to copy Douglas' good example and plant a hummer garden at the retirement home.
I just ordere Beebalm. Looking for an asortment.

Like Geoff said, some Salvia/sage are very good too. I just bought some red ones. I think hummers like the blue one as well. I don't have the blue ones in my "garden", these two shots below were taken at a real public garden.
Another thing to consider is the height of the plants and the angle of views you can get from the their height. I also planted some short ones (20" tall) and they are not good for eye level shots.
True although you cropped a tad tight there for my taste, Leon! I noticed that your images of falcons are mostly from a lower point while mine more from a higher point as I was standing on a bluff. Great image and again, what a unique view I normally not get to see.

Nabbed this big boy on the outskirts of Walden Colorado on this most recent trip.
I think I'm kidding myself with all the lenses here when all I need for life, proven over
several trips now, are the Tam17-28, Tam28-200, and Sony 200600. Maybe a macro thrown
in for good measure

B&H delivered today! Our house is being painted for the next couple of days so I couldn't go anywhere, but I did get this one. This is the definition of "stool" pigeon.
The lens is a beast! Thanks for all those on this thread who tipped the scales into ordering this wonder lens. Hopefully I'll have some better images in the future. For now, I'm very happy with this lens's performance on my A7RIII.

Thanks for the CC much appreciated , its the usual problem here of white or grey sky so I try to cut most of it out
This is around an old mill where a pair of Peregrines live , it is lower down but still great to watch them . I'm sometimes lucky and get to spot a family around Bempton cliffs which is much better , I got a shot of one of the juveniles last time but it was using my D850 and 200-500

Thank you Robert!
I started a small hummingbird "garden" (10'x10') in my front yard, planted maybe 6 or 7 different kinds of hummingbird attracting flowers, I noticed the best ones are beebalm and red cardinal flowers. I also have a feeder there too. The hummers come to the feeder at least a couple times an hour. I can photography them through my study's window, about 7-8' to the feeder.
Good to know about the Red Cardinal...I don't have that one....it will be my 2021 purchase...I think I still have a spot left for it in the bed.
Also of interest the Anna's Hummingbird winter breeding expansion north evolved with fuchsia-flowered gooseberry....another plant I may have to try out next year.
