Anyone in LA with the TZE-01 adapter? I want to test if any of my Samyang lenses will work, specifically the 18mm 2.8 FE and the 45mm 1.8 FE lenses. If those two lenses would work, I'd switch to the Z in a heartbeat!

FWIW, my understanding is the current FW will AF the lenses but aperture control/reporting is a mess.

I'm not sure Techart's claims that IBIS is fully supported are correct. IBIS is definitely doing something, it has the 'sloshy' effect when panning, but it isn't doing a great job on the higher frequency movements. I'm seeing better IBIS performance from a Loxia 25 in "dumb" mode (slightly twisted to disconnect the electronics) so that the Z7 falls back to non-CPU data.
Anyone else tested this? It might require a manual focus lens.
Bleh, I may have to fall back to a dumb adapter like I did with my chipped CV 180/4 on the FTZ. And give up EXIF and focusing aids. Grrr.

Personally I wouldn't give up the aids. Kinda know what you mean, but feel like it happens with AF-S and FTZ as well, so it may just be a IBIS issue. I just try and use better technique, and don't give up TOO much shutter speed.

I found cable makes a difference, at least on PC. I had the same problem with one cable and the problem was solved by changing cable.
However, it seems that fw 2.0 is not really a big upgrade as I only found that it added support for Sigma 12-24 but there is really no mentioning of any other improvement and it is still not compatible with Techart M to E mount adapter
PS I have not tried the combination with M to E adapter much as I thought it just does not work but interestingly with fw 2.0,
I noticed that AF-C auto mode, if I keep pressing AF-On and shutter button and manually focus, red box will appears over an object that is in focus. Much more accurate than peaking and it would let me manual focus quite quickly. Still need to experiment on this a bit. However, it is better to keep eye focus off in this case. If eye focus is on, yellow box will appears over an eye regardless of whether it is in focus or not so it is ont so useful.

So I just got my tze-01 (e - z) and the voigtlander 21mm F1.4. Updated to firmware 2.0. Can't get the exif to show the proper aperture. Changing the aperture manually on the voigltander lens does not reflect any change to the Z6 camera. Only way to get the proper exif info is to manually change the aperture on both the camera and the lens to the desired aperture.
Is this how it should function?
Thanks

Yes, the Z bodies cannot "read" the aperture of the manual lenses. They are physical aperture controls, not digital. You can set to match, if you use Setting Effect On it will have no effect till f/5.6. Smaller than f/5.6 you'll need to use exp comp to keep exposure correct.

It is better to keep in-camera aperture fully opened. And control the aperture on lens only. In this case there is no need in exp correction.

There’s no harm to that, it’ll just record incorrect aperture in EXIF. It will record whatever is set in body. Behavior also will vary some depending if you have Live View Setting On or Off.

@Mathieu18 , I'm still struggling a bit with how the aperture works with the Z6. How does it work with the sony cameras? You don't have to set your aperture on camera to match the physical aperture of the lens do you?
I just thought this lens would electrically notify the camera what aperture it is set at.

On a Sony body it reads what is set on the lens. Nikon can’t read the in lens setting though.
Best bet initially would be to just set the body to wide open aperture and leave it, only adjusting the lens. You won’t have accurate aperture in Exif, but will just let you shoot and see if you like it in general.

With Loxia 21 aperture could be changed only on the lens itself. But Sony camera is able to read the actual aperture value from the lens. Nikon Z can only read FL and max aperture from the lens.

Can you show the cable which fixed it?
I can't connect it at all either on Windows 7 or Mac, with different cables all I have "USB Device not recognized" (it reports no hardware ID to install a driver). I've tried to contact the support as I bought thru official store but they haven't answered in a month, sigh...
