Panoramic look at Lake Matheson during sunrise, with Mount Cook and Mount Tasman reflected in the early morning still water of the lake....
Captured with the Z6 and 24-70 f4S kit zoom.
Cheers and good light,
David
Amazing that a "kit" lens is able to achieve that. Very nice image!
Why carry a camera everyday everywhere
Last time I saw one of these was almost 3 years ago on an Ontario trip.
Though on the range map for a huge part of n.America I've never seen one here in my home area..until today!
Found on the daily walkabout.

Thanks Reagan! I hope you're keeping safe in Florida with this crazy pandemic. My wife and I are stuck in New Zealand for a while (thankfully a very safe place to be), not returning to Canada until June, when things settle down a bit (hopefully).
In reply to cvrle59 I have only recently purchased the lens and during that time we have been on lockdown. Taking BIF from the garden is difficult due to obstructions, trees, houses, telephone cables etc. In addition as per the previous photos most of the birds are small and quick of flight. After observing your query I gave it a go on a wood pigeon. Below are the 4 shots I managed to aquire which were reasonable. These were taken with d9 (9 point)autofocus. I had previous tried wide area but the images were unsharp. The motor drive was on High but I find the blanking out of the viewfinder during a sequence to be distracting, much prefer a DSLR for bif. More work by me required to provide a reasonable judgement.

You still can take some good bif with the z7. But it will take more work than the d500.
The evf lag is an issue. But even if I new about this issue before I buy the z7, I would still buy it. It is amazing camera. I hope they solve the evf lag issue.
I am also confined to a land lot next to my house where pigion gather. The difficulty is not to the high speed of the pigions but rather high angular speed due to the confind area in between other buildingd. But now I am using the d500 for bif.
Now that we are pretty much stuck only between work and home and not much opportunity to go outside anyway except supermarket, I started to play around a bit with stuffs at home.
Also started to experiment a bit with Helicon Focus program.
New Zealand has decided to extend Level 4 "lockdown" for another week. Here's how most people along the coast spend at least part of their day, in isolation of course...
