I bought a 500PF thanks to your postings, and it is the sharpest, most contrasty telephoto I have ever had, and with extremely high consistency of focus on a D500, my entry into Nikon. So, how does it compare in terms of IQ vs your 200-600mm on a Sony?

Good to see a shot with your 28/1.8 g. How do you like it on Z6?
Luka
It balances well and is sharp No need for fine tuning
I just dislike having to use the adapter
28 is my favorite focal length and have always used my 28/2 ai lens
but I really dislike focus peaking so the 28/1.8g fills in nicely
When the morning showers stop or the NFL playoffs end I will get out more with it

The 500PF is a little bit sharper and more contrasty but it isn't significant enough to factor in to my decision to use one or the other. The 200-600 is an amazingly sharp lens especially considering it's price point and that it is a zoom lens. But of course I do my 200-600 shooting on a 24MP FF sensor and my 500PF shooting on higher density D500/D850/Z5 sensors so that may affect my perception of the IQ somewhat.
Nice photo David. Windsor is my hometown. Lots of wildlife over towards Lasalle. Next time I’m down there to visit family I’ll have to head that way again.
You'd have to live in Lower Mainland to understand how bad this is Another round today, all ferries cancelled, driving anywhere heavily discouraged. Glad I can work from home.
