Beautiful images! Living in Florida I do miss the snow but we try to get to Colorado to ski once a year.

With some light through the clouds and absolutely no wind, this turned out to be a excellent photo opportunity.

A few from the "Landschaftspark" in Duisburg, Germany.
From their website:
"The Landscape Park Duisburg Nord is the outstanding example of a new type of park shaped by industry. At the centre of an area of about 180 hectares, stands the decommissioned Thyssen ironworks in Duisburg-Meiderich. From 1901 to 1985 the works produced pig iron - as a rule as a primary product for further processing in Thyssen's steel works."
Only the last is on a tripod, the rest is handhold.

Any Z users with a 500mm F/4 or 600mm f/4? Can you post a birdie pic with a 2x TC 111 at f/8.
I'm curious as to the usability of this combination compared to DSLR's.

Hey Tim,

I took both my Z50 & Z6 out to the lake this morning with the sole intent of playing with a 600F4 with a 2x TCIII on both bodies. As it turned out, I used the Z50 all morning because I was having so much fun with it. It DID take some getting used to, because it was 1800mm effective FL, but as I start looking at the images I'm quite pleased with the results.

I have not quiet found a place for 50/1.4D, but it is so small and light even with FTZ adapter, so I decided to see how it performs on Z6. Sure it is an old design and rendering is no match for 58/1.4Gt, but I was still pleasantly surprised. It may be performing better than with D810 even as a MF lens.

I use the old AI 50/1.4 on Z6. It's a very good performer from f/2 onwards. You can find my pictures with 50/1.4+Z6 combo in the Nikon MF thread. I guess the AF-D and AI share a similar optical performance.

Hi Ricardo,
I suspect AI and AFD share similar characteristics, but AI would feel better in hand

No twist here, Tim. Lol!

Reading your request for sample shots recently had ironic timing, as one of my buddies had just shown me a beautiful shot of an American Kestrel, he had captured with the 600F4 + 2x TC on his Z6.

I'll have a few more samples from yesterday, later today.

Thank you, Brian. Much appreciated.

It's not very often that I struggle with "too much reach". With that setup, it's much more common.

Here's a few more from the Z50, 600F4 + 2x TCIII combo.

Honestly, I am shocked. These are some of the best results I've gotten with the 2x TC, from any lens, and from my D500 & D850. I suppose it probably has to do with one's ability to AF Fine Tune, but I have been doing it for years on numerous Nikon & Canon bodies & lenses. In this case, I just mounted it & started shooting.
