Nice and fun image of lady with a Hasselblad. How easy/difficult is it to use the Otus 28mm on the Z7? I have tried Otus 55mm on my Z7. While the handling is not ideal but manageable, the images qualities from Otus are truly excellent. Focus is much easier on Z7 than on D850 and with added benefit of IBIS function.
Thank you very much for the kind wishes!! akul wrote:

Charles,
Congratulations for your move. I can’t imagine the amount of work it took to make such a historical move. I hope you get the well deserved rest but I look forward to seeing your shots from Spain!!

I generally find that it is easier for me to focus manual focus lens with EVF+ focus magnifier+peaking.
Since A7r came out, I used manul focus lenses on my DSLR only a handful of time but used them regularly with Sony.
I have to say though that Z7 EVF is just about the best out there except for Leica SL. A7r IV is very very close but I would say that I have slight preference for Z7. I also think that for mirrorless, Z7 is more comfortable to hold with Otus lenses than A7r IV.
However, focus magnifier +/- are probably in the worse location. I have to assign fn1 button to focus magnifier on/off.
Unfortunately, I cannot assign magnifier +/- button to something else more useful which is a shame.
Thank you for granting my wish and posting gorgeous shots from Spain. I realize that now you are in the same season. Lovely mood capture with beautiful rendering of 28 and 85.

Thank you. I feel the same way about the Z7. Compared with other mirrorless, including the SL, I find the Z7 has the best EVF implementation, much more similar to an OVF. I was a bit concerned about the size of the Otus 28mm, but I am very tempted to give this a try, knowing how good the Otus 28mm is.
Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. That's why I like visiting Vegas - in 30 minutes you can be out enjoying some spectacular landscapes and be back same evening in your hotel. This was a short visit for a few hours, clouds dominated the skyline all day, but then there was an opening late evening. Car rental cost $23, totally worth it.
Z6 + Zeiss Milvus 135MM.
3 image hand-held pano, very late at dusk, but IBIS saved the day. I don't carry tripod anymore.

Thank you Luka You have been very kind in your well wishes...
Another late evening shot in the streets. Having image stabilization for night shots is a godsend !

tomorrow we go to v3.00 firmware update
if nikon delivers on the leaked rumor!
CFexpress for some cards (cool - but my XQD are still perfectly fine). Prores RAW is supposed to be a paid update (where you need to send your camera in, not that I care about video). Unconfirmed AF improvements.
I'm not holding my breath - I'd rather be surprised than disappointed.
