At 200mm (300mm f.o.v.) you were either really close, or you did a bit of cropping. If cropped, how much would you estimate?
I really wish Nikon would produce a DX body with the Z9 AF engine... or something close to it... I miss picking up my D500 and its tighter field of view.
I've been trying to photograph this bird seed thief in a more natural habitat, but the little gal scurries away pretty quickly. Yesterday was the first time that I managed to actually catch it.
Truly nothing special, but a testament to the speed of the Z9 w/ the 500PF

I just cropped from the original frame to 16x9 format only. The bird was pretty close to me which make the tracking even harder with a f/2 lens. Even with a cropped sensor, the 200/2 bokeh still looks pretty good.

Did you underexpose or use a graduated filter or was there enough cloud to hold things in check.

Thanks...I don't use graduated filters at this moment, the clouds definitely helped, but Z7II at ISO64 is amazing too.
When I was in Fuji camp, I always bracketed scenes like this, not any more,
I just watch for highlights in histogram, the shadows can be corrected in post processing, at least to what I would consider, good enough.

I have been blessed to go to this place for lunch too many a times this past summer and since I always have a camera with me I love to wander around and take shots of these people making my season(s) so special with their hospitality and food.
This shot has been taken with a Z6II and an adapted 85G f1.8, a lens I have been successfully using on D8xx series which got then replaced by the fabulous 85D f1.4 and I can definitely tell the difference!
Other G lenses, like the 58, work flawlessly on the FTZ but this one has been struggling achieving focus, results are ok, nothing to scream to miracle but now I know I want the 85S, just matter of finding a new home for the G
