A few photos taken recently. The deer and pheasant with the Sigma 100-400mm and the kitten with the 135mm. Would I see much image quality improvement if I moved to the new nikon 400mm f4.5 S lens?

Nice photos...
I think the one image that would show a difference is the first photo in your set. I'm not sure what f-stop you used, but I think the 400 f/4.5 at f4.5 would show a bit more contrast in the deer and a significantly nicer bokeh (softer out of focus highlights). While your deer is a beautiful specimen, the details in the out of focus area draw my eyes away from it.
As for your other images, it appears that your lens is up to the task.
Landscapes are a bit boring in my area right now... hopefully the cooler weather will offer some color and atmospherics.
These are a few images made with my recently acquired 24-120S... I appreciate the added range and the addition of a manual focus ring. To my eyes (and for my purposes), the optical quality is not different than what I was producing with the 24-70 f4S.

Taken recently at Rosario Head, Deception Pass state park, with the Nikon Z9 and the Nikon 50mm f/1.2. The first shot was taken wide open, while the second shot was taken at f/8.
