But with 487 bald eagles in the refuge, I am sure as hell going back when the snow (about to hit that part of Missouri tonight) melts.

Ghost fungi
These are all 3min+ exposures. The fungi glow is viewable to the naked eye as a faint off white, the long exposure brings out the green glow.

Why do fungi exhibit bioluminescence?
Bioluminescence of some species of fungi does attract insects, and these fungi are likely to have the advantage of increased spore dispersal. However, a recent scientific paper (here) suggests that bioluminescence in ghost fungi (Omphalotus nidiformis) does not attract more spore-dispersing insects in a significant way, and arose most likely as an incidental by-product of metabolism.
Been horrible weather the last few days but the Bluebirds brought a bit of blue sky. These were with the new 100-400 lens, cropped and reduced to 1600x1200px.
