My favorite feature of the MkII bodies, helped that it was a pretty calm morning. I found even the common 10 stops aren’t enough if it’s a bright scene, which after sunrise usually is, and 30 seconds isnt always all that smooth. The Nisi has a bit of color cast like B+W 10 stops but otherwise it does pretty well.

i use ACDsee as my "light table". if the info is there and it usually is still imbedded unless deliberately removed it will use it. this is but a tab on the whole page table layout.

I couldn't bring myself to post the first image in the Z9 images thread as I made a big blunder, I shot my first images in jpeg!!
I went out with the Z9 + 100-400 and 500 PF and got some great bird Superb Fairywren shots, but somehow when going through the menu, I must have somehow accidently changed it from RAW to JPEG Normal!!. To say I am p155ed off is to put it mildly!! I purposely underexposed them as the blue of their feathers blows out very easily and they also have black feathers so the contrast is huge. They were flitting constantly between light and shade and a combination of both I needed to preserve highlights as I could always pull up the shadows. The best shots were underexposed by at least 1 stop and there is no way to recover them to my normally high standard.
What I can say is that the 3D animal tracking worked very well. It latched onto the head/eye of this little guy easily.
At 20 fps I get lots more empty branch shots after the bird flies off!
I hardly made a dent in the battery life. I took about 300 images and was constantly chimping and deleting images. I had to delete all the empty branch shots and all the shots as the bird flew off as well.
The EVF is excellent, better than the Z7II.
I think it is safe to say that the Z9 hype is pretty well spot on.
Z9 + Z 100-400 f4.5-5.6 VRS, 1/200sec, f6.3, ISO640, 400mm. Cropped about 50%
Congratulations for the Z9 and 100-400. I look forward to seeing many shots from new combinations utilizing these two. Beautiful bird. I am sorry that image was set to JPG. I am very curious how raw file works.
