Looks like La Nina year in the coastal BC. Lots and lots of pour downs and not many opportunities to get outside and photograph. There are brief moments when the weather cooperates.

How the hell were you able to get your hands on the Z9?
. The hardest thing about getting the Peregrine shots was not that the camera wouldn't focus on them, it was trying to keep them in the viewfinder. We were on a cliff edge near the ocean with an on shore strong breeze which they rode. They came from very high from behind us and on our left and then went to our right a very short distance and then flew past us at between about 10-20 degrees above us and between about 10-20mts away. The speed they went past was simply incredible. Their flight path was a little erratic which caused us issue following them. So, even with a Z9, if you don't have them in the VF, you won't get the shot!
