It's a rumor site. I know it can be frustrating and maybe seem sketchy at times. But often its all the info we get about new Sony products and services.
I don't think he is a bad guy at all. People send him info. Sometimes the info is bad, sometimes not very clear, other times its spot on.

Apologies for my mess with the dates...believe me my sources are confused too . "
I don’t think he’s a bad guy either. I was just making a stupid joke to lighten the mood.
Discussions about religion tend to go nowhere quick. So I thought I’d try to change the subject.

Not sure how this thread took such a left turn 🤪. But thanks for bringing it back. Now if tomorrow's announcement never comes then yes all help will break loose. Ha Ha

Sorry about that folks, I just don't like to see such a poor attitude being expressed without being challenged...
I don't like it when they are closed either, but I respect their beliefs enough to accept their decision to not be open without bitching on the internet about it. Others apparently do not.

I hope it was Sony’s original plan to launch tomorrow, and that Sony doesn’t let themselves be influenced by a rumour site to move or postpone launch dates.

At this point, my main concern is that the 200-600 is a real pending release and not a development announcement. My second hope is that the lens will take teleconverters. If not, then I'm not sure it's something I'll buy. I don't see a lot of use for the 2x on such a slow lens, but I would expect the 1.4x to get a fair amount of use. I hope it's a GM lens too, even if that means a price bump. I know a price point of $2,000 has been suggested, but I can't see that happening, but hopefully, I'm wrong. Even if it's a G lens, I don't see this lens being under $3,000.

The good thing is the 200-600 rumor is still alive. I really do want to buy the 200-600 and while I'd never buy the 600/4 I might lease it just to try it out. Also, I think 600/4 puts Sony on the official wildlife list 😉
I wish Sony would give us more official information directly so we didn't have to grope around in the dark for product road maps. Last we heard from Sony in 2018, is that 12 Emount lenses were coming. Twelve what and when we all said 🤷🏻♂️ SAR seems to be just about the only source of info we have other than a few "I can't talk about future products" Sony management interviews.
I am sure there is some marketing or strategic approach to all of this secrecy? At this point I think we get more info from Voigtländer about their new Emount lenses than Sony ever reveals about Sony lenses.

If he doesn't know anything more than you, why do you keep reading his posts? It is clear which of you is the smarter guy.
It was just a joke to change the subject from religion. I can see now, it was not a very good joke, judging by how many times I have to explain myself.

The only thing I could think of is that they don't want competing companies to know what they are up to... but it also means current and potential customers don't either. I like the Fuji, Nikon, and Olympus roadmap.
