I look at it every day and often there is valuable stuff youtube videos etc.

But this speculating and so many rumors of cameras and lenses being released or having the specs all wrong has really affected their credibility IMO.

It always has been a you never know what Sony or anyone is releasing or when until they do. I would say unless they know what they are talking about to stop posting things that are off base.

At least the SAR 4 & 5 stuff I can understand the posts that are not but SAR 5 has lost its meaning

Reviews to be published tomorrow London Time at 15:00.

https://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-on-monday-sony-will-announce-their-most-expensive-e-mount-lens-in-their-range-costing-around-14000/

SAR indicated that Sony would announce the 600mm f4 today.

Also, and I can not find it now, SAR had listed that Sony had registered a new camera, but they could not ID the model.

This really has been an interesting rumor. I generally ignore anything below SR4 on the website, but I don’t recall an SR5 rumor being this wrong before. I think the key words on their latest update on SAR are “All I have heard...”

wouldn't be too surprised if the 200-600 review to be published at 15:00 London time is based on the stolen lens vs Sony Official announcement

I am very religious and respect all religions but a business is a business. 99% of companies this size are open when you are the size of BH Photo.

The people who run the place can still abide by their holidays but I have to believe they have a fair amount of people on their work force that are not Jewish that could at least man the order boards and process orders.

I have to think they are computerized enough to accept orders and get

That's right. Don't let religion get in the way of capitalism. Me, Me, Me, Me...

I assume you have no problem with Chick-fil-A? How dare they be closed for a full 1/7 of the possible time that they could be making MONEY.

You are either suffering from narcissism disorder, or you may be a bit of a bigot. My guess is both.

As a non-religious person, I find it amusing that you claim to be religious and then also claim to be spiteful with your decisions. That doesn't reflect kindly on your religion or your church.

I was not attacking you pal, and your "guess" is 100% wrong far from it.

I simply stated I am frustrated loading up a shopping cart and one out of four times I get a message that they will be back online on Tues after another holiday.

I have the right to that opinion without being insulted three times by you and labeled by someone who knows nothing of what they speak.

To reiterate what I said is that 90% of large worldwide online stores are open 24/7 or pointed out a fact but you seem to like to jump down peoples throats. Go bother someone else.

For many conservative and orthodox Jews, the doing of business on the Sabbath is not allowed, even if they allow others or machines to actually do the operations. (This same belief was for Christians a part of what used to be the "Sunday" laws that closed almost all businesses on Sundays.) By letting others operate their business, they are still doing business and making money on the Sabbath, and that is what is not allowed. If you think about it, doing so might easily detract from the observances and thoughts that the Sabbath is dedicated to. It is a separation of the sacred from the profane.

As a committed free-market capitalist, I am still glad that there are some values that trump doing business and making money. I think they ought to be respected for that decision--it costs them a lot of bucks.

I'll be honest here; I too find it a bit frustrating going to their site and finding it closed. I've had nothing but good experiences with B&H, so I usually wait until they re-open, and don't jump to another retailer.

Boo Hoo Who cares if you are sick of any business closing when they want to? Don't like it, then don't shop there.

I am sure B&H is really suffering due to your spiting them.

That is fine and this is a free country and when they waste my time but not telling customers up front when compiling a shopping cart it is annoying. I am a very busy person with a hundred things a day on my to do list not to mention supervising forty others so my time is something I value and I prefer not to see it wasted.

I am not Jewish, but have worked with many Orthodox Jews in my life. I think you should do a little research on how Orthodox Jews keep Shabbat (Friday sundown to Saturday sundown). In the very strict sects, one is not allowed to do any kind of work. This includes causing work to be done. If you require your employees to do work it is a violation whether they are Jewish or not. This would also include turning off or on electrical things, and accepting orders on completely automated computerized systems.

So no, for some, they cannot abide their holidays and get you your camera gear on Shabbat.

I completely understand however that many are not educated in other people's religion. So, I attach no ill intent to your post.

I do recall seeing pop ups on the B&H website on Saturdays that inform people of the delay caused by this.

When what you can do is limited, they always tell you that right on the landing page. I also sometimes find that inconvenient, but I know that my convenience does not rule the world. In general, I find them considerate, honorable, and reasonable to do business with.

Agree. SAR is usually pretty close to target with SR5 for some years now. But as we all know 💩💩💩 happens.

If I may interject here. Let us all not lose sight of who the real bad guy here is...The dude that runs SAR!! 😉

I don’t know why I keep falling for his “SR5” posts. He obviously doesn’t know anything more than the rest of us! 😀

It's a rumor site. I know it can be frustrating and maybe seem sketchy at times. But often its all the info we get about new Sony products and services.

I don't think he is a bad guy at all. People send him info. Sometimes the info is bad, sometimes not very clear, other times its spot on.
