After I got the Sigma 105mm, the GM 85mm felt neglected. Well, here it is another image taken with that lens at wide open and it certainly didn't disappoint...

Just wanted to sit down with my little girl for a few. She was really excited to use the new posing table. I’m pretty sure I’m going to keep this lens as I think it’ll work really well for my headshots. I’m feeling like I would enjoy more than 24MP on the camera, but really don’t want 60. Maybe the A7IV will bump up to 36 or something...

I posted this image in a different thread but I edited the file using Luminar 4 and cropped the lower half, making it pretty much a square format...
What is your opinion of Luminar 4 for this kind of work?

Jim, I use it as a plug-in to PS since for portraits PS is definitely necessary, IMHO. It seems to work fine and it does make my editing faster if you just want to apply one of the "Looks". If we can come up with various "Looks" of our own or modify the default looks to taste that can be applied to varying situations, the workflow can be streamlined and then it will be faster. I am working on them right now.
BTW, the AI Face Enhancer is interesting. You have to try it to render your opinion but I almost can guarantee that your female models would like that .

Is this a window where you let highlights blow out or a light source? I think the former, but not sure.
Vinny, I used my light box for that image. I ended up taking 3 images, showing slight varying angles of the model’s head from full profile to showing less to more of her face.

I really like it. I think I tend to power up the light too much when I do this and end up with that hair fringing that I never notice until after the shoot (it’s visible in one of the recent images I posted here).
The 35/1.2 is kind of a signature lens of yours now it seems?

Thank you, Vinny! I did it several years ago but I forgot about it but I rediscovered it last Saturday. Not only the model's profile but also her hairdo was just great for that kind of shot and that rekindled that trick in my mind. One thing that I noticed in one or two images, that there was some kind "webbing" at her fingers that were too close together. I noticed that later on and in the mean time, I fixed the appearance already. Guaranteed, the model is not a mermaid .
Yes, that Sigma lens is truly great and between that and the 105mm f/1.4 lens are my favorite portrait lenses now. Here is an image from the same session using the 105mm f/1.4 at wide open. A shooting buddy of mine that shot together with me asked me, what that lens could not do? I told him, except for making my morning coffee basically there is nothing....
