p.1 #1 · Portrait and People Image Thread using Sony
I am not sure how this thread will go but let's give it a try. A few people and portrait image threads couldn't get much traction as the specified lens seems to be too restricted. Images taken with any lens, including adapted lenses, can be posted in this thread as long as it is taken with a Sony camera, any Sony camera for that matter. Let the subject matter vary, too, as long as the main target is limited to people.
Please post your people/portrait images and you can cross post them in other or your favorite image threads, too. Here are a few images, some recent and some older, to get this thread going then. Thank you!

Joshua, you sure know how to start off a new thread by raising the bar! Love your lighting approach in these images. I think we are all about to see exactly how much superb talent there is on this forum...Can't wait to see the contributions.

Steve, I am flattered and thank you! Your images are very lovely and please share some more. I would like to make this everybody's thread and not my thread, actually far away from that.

Great start to the thread, Joshua! Shows what each lens is capable of, when in experienced hands.
Thank you very much, Jerry! And please, share your images in our thread as well, please!

hahaha that is very true...should have started with some "entry level" shots to not scare the rest of us. Tough act to follow
Luis, I have seen your works, you are just too modest, buddy!

How about the image of my grandson when he was 3; he is 6 now, going on 12 . He was playing by himself on the floor and I was playing with an off camera flash with a snoot to narrow down the beam and voila!

Wow, those are some amazing portraits! Not my strong suit but I do enjoy doing them, and learning to get better from what I see others do, so this is great!

It’s hard for me not to like a picture of my daughter, but this remains one of my recent favorites.
A self portrait practicing some lighting setups.
I have finally arranged a shoot with some subjects that aren’t my family members for this weekend, so I’ll soon get to find out if I’m any good at this.

Our combined thread is off to a great start; excellent images, Jim, Jon M, Vinny and Charles! I hope you guys will keep on posting some more.
This is of my grandnephew in Holland and the only editing I did here using Lightroom was to adjust the exposure, highlight, and shadows. The entire editing was completed in about a minute. It was taken last year and he was a year and a half back then. We will see him again in about 8 days...

Very nice idea, this thread. I like to do portraits with old, analogue lenses. Here is a portrait with a NIKKOR-S.C Nippon Kogaku 5cm /1.4 on the Sony A7 ii. The lens had to be specially adapted because it has a Contax bayonet. The M39 thread even fits the TAP. The picture was taken with Sony A7 II + TechArtPro Adapter + Contax-Adapter.
